Sharing birthdays with famous people
by target inwhen my husband was convinced to be baptized back in '74, the jw who studied with my husband went with him to meet with the elders.
when the elder asked for my husband's birthday for his records, he said nov 12 and the jw says "not my birthday, he wants yours".
my husband says, "it is mine".

by cindykp inthose of you who saw my threads, know that my grandpa was going to die.

Good luck Cindy and I hope you find some reconcilliation with your family.
I'm not sure the 'one foot in, one foot out' policy works for very long as it gets increasingly difficult to lead the JW way of life if your heart isn't into it.
All the best anyway.

Nope, I'm never going paperback. I'll always be hardback bound with the finest italian leather and embossed in gold filigree.
Oh, you meant the other version. Well I wouldn't be surprised what with all the cost cutting measures. They would probably print on toilet paper if they could get away with it. Actually that would be quite useful

Welcome to the board Moanzy. Thanks for sharing your story, I really appreciated it and I was very moved. I can understand your anger at the org after some of the experiences you had to endure as you grew up. What stands out for me is the hypocrisy and double standards among the JW's in preaching love among themselves and yet offering no help, sympathy or love to those in the cong that need it. The experience of being snubbed at your own grans funeral I can understand would have been very upsetting. It's like they are all frightened of breaking the ludicrous rules and that's what the org is all about; fear. Fear traps people in the cult. I really hope your life gets better now you have Dean and your 3 little kiddies. Lots of people can relate to your story on this forum, I hope it helps in some way and you enjoy our discussions on JWD (sometimes serious, sometimes a bit mad :-)
